Player Collapses At Lagos Stadium During Scouting Programme

A young footballer  reportedly collapsed at the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, Lagos state, during a scouting programme organised by the Shazam Football Team on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after the conclusion of a match at approximately 9:45 a.m. Eyewitnesses reported that the unidentified  player suddenly slumped on the pitch, prompting swift efforts by those present to rush him to the hospital.

According to a source who participated in the programme but wished to remain anonymous, the match had just ended when the player collapsed.

“The player slumped at Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle, after the end of the match. He was rushed to the hospital,” the witness said.

A video recorded at the scene showed the player being carried off the field, conscious but unresponsive. No further details regarding his condition were available at the time of filing this report, as hospital officials have yet to provide an update.

The scouting programme, organised by the Shazam Football Team based in Mile 2, attracted numerous young players hopeful of securing professional opportunities.
