Traditional Worshippers under the aegis of Isese Parapo Organization of Ota, Awori land and Association of Ifa Practitioners in Ota, have expressed sadness over the passage of Sheikh Imam Muhammad Bukhari Aladi, who was until his death, the Grand Chief Imam of Ota, Awori land.
In a statement made available to newsmen, the Chairman of the organizations, who also doubles as the Araba of Ota, Oluwo (Dr.) Fasola Faniyi Babatunde, the late stage was described as a ‘symbol of peace’, who saw to the ‘maintenance of peace and tranquility among Traditional worshippers, Muslims and Christians during his life time’.
“I, Oluwo Dr. Fasola Faniyi Babatunde, on behalf of all Traditional Practitioners in Ota, express our sincere condolence to the family of Aina-Aladi and the Muslim community in Ota over the demise of their Patriarch. It is indeed a sad trend, regardless of how long the late sage lived.
He was, during his life time, a symbol of peace, who spent all his life to ensure the existence of peace, love and tranquility among all worshippers in Ota, be it traditional, islamic or christian. Ota has indeed lost a gem in the late Chief Imam and no doubt the vacuum he left behind would felt for a very long time”.
Araba emphasized that the leadership of Grand Chief Imam saw to the peaceful co-existence of all worshippers in Ota and that the tolerance he preached everytime among the Muslim community, encouraged the peaceful co-existence that all indigenes and residents of Ota enjoined and is still currently enjoying.
While also commiserating with the Muslim community at large, Araba extended his condolence to the Olota of Ota, Prof. Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege on the demise of Imam Bukhari.
He prayed the Almighty God to give the immediate family, Muslim community and Ota as a whole, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
VOA News report that the Firdaus prayer of the late chief Imam would hold on Sunday, 23rd June, 2024 at the premises of Ansar-u-Deen Comprehensive College, Ota by 10:00am.
Recall that Imam Muhammad Bukhari Aladi breathe his last on Sunday, 16th June, 2024 at the ripe age of 95 and has since been buried according to Ismalic rites.
