Stakeholders in Osuke, Ota community in Ado-odo/Ota local government area of Ogun state, have accused the contractor handling some classroom projects in Police Secondary School in the community of diverting funds meant to complete the project.
In a viral video obtained by VOA News, some community leaders of Osuke can be seen touring the construction site of the company and showing some materials which have been abandoned by the contractor and allowing to waste away.
“Come and see the classrooms that have been abandoned for over a year, this project was started before some projects in Ado-Odo/Ota and we heard that Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi have fully mobilized the contractor, but he has refused to complete the project. Instead, he has abandoned the materials”.
“Let me show you the cements which have turned to stone, the steel that are meant for the construction have been left unguarded and we are sure that Yayi can not make part payment for the construction. He must have fully mobilized the contractor.”
The stakeholders, who called on Distinguished Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi to wade into the matter and call the contractor to order, said they have made several frantic efforts to get the contractor back to site; but all their efforts remain futile.
When VOA News Correspondent contacted the Engineer in charge of the project, Engineer Adeola, he said though, he is not the contractor in charge of the project, and that he is only a Supervisor, said that efforts are ongoing by the contractor to move back to site as they have done a fresh costing of what it takes to complete the project.
