Chief Imam Of Sango, Ota, Sheikh Tajudeen Shafi, Others Distance Self From ‘Impostor’ Iyaloja Of Sango, Ota

In what appears as a dramatic attempt to lump up the who is whom in Sango, Ota together with the ‘illegal chieftaincy Installation of one ‘Mrs Abigael Adedokun as the Iyaloja of Sango, Ota, Sheikh Tajudeen Shaffi and other prominent stakeholders in the community have distanced themselves from the shenanigans’.

While reacting to the public release made by Hon. Semiu Babatunde and shared on his Facebook timeline, Sheikh Tajudeen Shaffi said ‘it is an attempt to mislead the public and that Sango, Ota indigenes and residents should disregard such ‘callous move’.

“We are aware of a Facebook post made by Hon. Semiu Babatunde, where he said that myself, Alhaji Wasiu Dawodu Olundegun, Baale Fasanya Olunrebi a.k.a Oposuru, Baale Ganiu Ayinde, Baale Shakiru Iretiolu Bello and Baale Mufutau Kasali attended the presentation of one Mrs Abigael Adedokun as the Iyaloja of Sango, Ota to the Iyaloja of Egba land, Chief Mrs Abeke Oloyede for formal approval.

We are not part of this callous move because concerns indigenes and residents of Sango, Ota have chosen their own legitimate Iyaloja of Sango, Ota in person of Chief Mrs Toibat Aderonke Bello through our royal father, HRM. Prof. Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota. So, the general public should not dignify their lies”.

The Chief Imam of Sango, Ota, who described the move as ‘blatant lie and attempt to mislead the general public, asked law enforcement agencies to wade into the matter in order not to cause break down of law and order.

Recall that the Olota of Ota, Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege installed Chief Mrs Toibat Aderonke Bello as the Iyaloja of Sango, Ota and Chief Mrs Shadiat Omowunmi Olundegun as Otun Iyaloja of Sango, Ota.

Meanwhile, VOA News gathered that an attempt has been made by Mr. Gbohun, a ‘self acclaimed Oba of Sango, Ota to also crown his own loyalist as the Iyaloja, a situation that has caused panic amongst indigenes, residents and traders in the ever busy Sango, Ota market.
