News reaching VOA News just now has it that a pregnant woman simply identified as Faith and her one year old child have been electrocuted while trying to use electric cooker, popular as hot plate to prepare dinner.
The sad trend which has put residents of Eleidi Atala community in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun state in total turmoil, happened in the evening of Friday.
As gathered, the woman who is assumed to be in her 20’s was cooking on a hot plate while her first child was also with her in the kitchen.
A resident, who broke the news to our Correspondent said that the electric shock may have happened while the child made an attempt to touch her pregnant mother when she got electrocuted, a sad event which made the pregnant woman and her child die instantly.
As at the time of filing this report, Security agencies are on ground to monitor the situation and restore calm to the peaceful Eleidi Atala community.
